Catch the Next conducted an in-person class observation on March 21^st at the STC Starr Campus to culminate its yearly site visits. CEO Maria Chavez, Juan Higa and Linda Hagedorn observed Dr. Anna Alaniz’s English 1301 classroom. Dr. Alaniz explored the topic of the Value of Education.  She used quotes from famous individuals and a reading by Malala Yousafzai. Students identified strong lines and read a short piece using the popcorn method. After viewing the trailer for the movie CODA (Children of Deaf Adults), students wrote about why they wanted a degree and what they would be willing to sacrifice for the opportunity of a college education.
