Raphael Castillo, CTN Director of Publications and Special Projects, recently published an article in the San Antonio Express News titled “A Revolutionary Alternative to Expensive College Textbooks.” In it he discusses the prohibitive cost of textbooks and how OER materials “allow students and teachers to collaborate, develop, review and revise shared content gratis in a Creative Commons platform.” Castillo feels “courses with OER designation are the best solution for pricey books and materials.”
