ACC STUDENTS TOUR TEXAS STATE UNIVERSITY

by Maria Gonzalez

Austin Community College Ascender students toured Texas State University along with other ACC students on Friday, December 2nd. As they explored the campus, students got a sense of what may soon be their new university. They learned about the university’s historical buildings and memorial statues. One of which was the statue of President LBJ, where they shook his hand for good luck in finals. After a long walk, everyone had lunch in one of their cafeterias. To conclude the trip, a transfer informational session took place where an admissions representative presented key information like fees, application deadlines, scholarships, and traditions like jumping in the San Marcos river after the graduation ceremony.
