CTN Peer Mentor, Prof John H. Stanfield, SSR Chair of African Studies at the University of Mauritius and Emeritus Professor Department of African American and African Diaspora Studies at Indiana University Bloomington, recently had several books published by the University of Mauritius Press. One is titled Rwanda: The Historical and Ethnographic Notes of an African American Sociologist. Gape Kaboyakgosi, PhD, Political Scientist and Vice Chancellor, Limkokwing University Botswana, who wrote the preface says, “A great read with a personal touch – that brilliantly narrates and analyses the complexities of one of Africa’s most complex societies. A must read.” The other books are More Thinking About Race, “Race” and Culture in Casual Ethnography as Autoethnography & Autoethnography, and Rwanda: Circling Back to My 2011-2012 Ethnographic and Autoethnographic.
